Righteo I’m on a roll now, here’s a game I’ve spent WAY too much time on the last week or so, it’s a mod for the free game (that’s right completley free and with no Army recruitment brainwashing motive) Enemy Territory and it follows on from many other popular Fortress games, Quakeworld Team Fortress, Team Fortress Classic and Quake 3 Fortress. It’s a teamplay capture the flag game with attack and defense specific classes to choose from. A really fun game to play online with some good fast doof music in the background.
I’m just testing out my bookmarker thing that’s with my blog script, allows me to quickly post URLs that I think are cool.
First linkage honours goes to Creatures in My Head, a cool little cartoon site where one guy draws a little critter everyday, and they are really cool. I’ve made the odd background for myself and other such things using these cartoons. If I ever get a tattoo, it could quite easily be one of these critters.
I had the Music Played Script taken down for the past few weeks, Audioscrobbler have been doing some work on their servers and there has been quite a bit of downtime. To work around this I’ve put a timeout setting to the script so that it doesn’t effect the load time of the site. In the near future I’m going to add MySQL functionality to all of my RSS scripts to save on load time, and they will update every hour, instead of every time the page loads.
I’m also working on the rest of my scripts so that I can put them on the PHP scripts page, need to make MySQL table scripts and other such things for them to make them easier for others to install.
My Portfolio page will be updated quite soon with some Multimedia examples including a flash application download. 2 Weeks break coming up, so plenty of time for work on the site!
Thought I better post something since it’s been a while. No point really posting anything if nothing is happening though.
Was in town (Geelong town) tonight for a few beers, was a good night and a bad night to be in Geelong’s CBD, it’s O’week for the uni students so all the pubs are crawling with people who can’t old their alcohol at the best of times. Found ourselves locked up in the Preston surrounded by the O’week types, was good for a laugh. It did dawn on me though that I have reached the age where I am too old to mingle in with the O’week stuff like I did when my mates were at Uni, kind of depressing really. That quickly went away when I was walking past the vomiting masses when heading home.
Oh and a new fan dangle script on the left there show’s what music I’m playing while I’m at work and on my computer, coolness.
The one day in the year where everyone in melbourne decides to drink beer and eat food al fresco style in St Kilda, because apparently you can’t do that any other day. I think if the bands weren’t there I’d make more of an effort to get away from St Kilda on that day, just an insane amount of people, all of them hungry and thirsty. A good excuse for bars to up their prices it seems.
But who’s being negative, ended up being a top day and managed to see Xavier Rudd and Cat Empire. The crowd seemed to really get into both bands which was cool, massive turnout for them, people everywhere you looked.
Was definitely a better option training/tramming there rather than driving (which I did the last 2 years), but the V/Line guy didn’t seem to like me and decided to study my ticket with his super special CSI blue light, which he was probably just using to look cool.
I think the one of the main highlights of the day was the dude who decided to climb the scaffolding of the main stage, which must have been around 10 metres high the crowd loved it, the organisers hated it, would have been rather nasty if he fell. This year I’m sure had way more people, haven’t heard the guesstimate that the news people have blurted out but it’s gotta be some kind of record. Last year we were quite easily able to sit on the grass and watch the bands, that just wasn’t possible this year, absolute corner to corner people. There’s a few photos taken on my phone and you can find them in the gallery. Try and sport the human pyramid and there’s a couple of photos of the guy on the scaffolding, hard to make out though.
