GTA IV May Force Me To Buy An XBOX360
Posted on: April 26th, 2008 at 2:20pm By: Sebconn

I’ve been looking at GTAIV for a while now, half debating whether or not I should actually invest in an XBOX360 just for one game. The answer in my head has always been pffft, nah, you’ve already got a Wii console, plus it’ll be on the PC in a year. But I just read the IGN game review, it got a 10. IGN has not given a game a 10, in a full decade, that’s pretty insane. The video review got me pretty psyched too, the multiplayer just looks incredible.

So I’m fairly certain, in a fortnight or so once I’ve fixed my still broken Macbook, I will invest in a 360, just for this game, of course I will buy other games as well, can’t think of any right now though.

Free New Nine Inch Nails Song, “Discipline”

I love how Trent Reznor treats his fans, awesome stuff. Just enter your email address and post code and you’ll get an email with the download link. The track is pretty damn good, it’s the cliche NIN sound but I never seem to get tired of it. In the ID3 tag under comments it says to visit NIN on the 5th of May. Hopefully an album release, who knows, I’m keen though.

From Trent’s blog posts and the numerous releases, he’s obviously testing the waters to see what the best model is to sell his music, without fucking over the fans at the same time, and it’s something that very few high profile artists are doing. He’s definitely gaining a lot of cred from the internet community and his fans. I just hope other artists and record companies are taking notice of what he’s doing.

Der Stein Ist Gut

The new beer stein goes well. That’s 3 full Pure Blonde stubbies in there. And I think I drank them as quick as I would drink 1 with that stein.

Australian iPhone release info revealed!

“Apple Australia have today announced internally the details of the Australian iPhone release. The phone will be released in the last week of June to coincide with the opening of the Sydney Apple Store. The phone will also be unlocked for use with more than 1 carrier, providing evidence it may be a 3G iPhone we first see here.”

Oh man I’m so stoked about this one. My phone contract ends in August, hopefully I can get out of it a couple of months early. I’m totally getting one.

Wait, What? Is This 2008?
Posted on: April 9th, 2008 at 3:28pm By: Sebconn

I just had a very surreal experience. Someone approached me at work wanting to print off something he did at home and he doesn’t have a printer. “Ok, where’s the document?” I said. He handed me a floppy disk, that’s right, a floppy disk, “I tried to open it at the library but it didn’t work”. I asked him if he had the document saved anywhere else, he didn’t, it was just on the floppy disk. It gets worse. I put it in a floppy drive we had on one of the older computers, as I expected, it wouldn’t read the disk and asked me to reformat the disk. The gentleman noticed the dialog box and said, “I think this disk was last formatted about ‘94, ‘95″. I just looked at him with a blank stare, “You’re telling me you’ve been using the same floppy disk for 14 years?”. He nodded. I couldn’t believe it, I almost burst out with laughter. A 14 year old floppy disk and he’s wondering why it’s not working, what a classic.
