After quite a few months of bitching to a mate about how nerdy and boring that whole World of Warcraft game looks, I for some reason bought it the other day when I was out christmas shopping, hell knows why, but it will certainly give me something to do on those boring weekdays during the holidays.

I’m simply baffled by it, how involved it is, how BIG the place is and how much fun is actually is, I really wasn’t a fan of any of the Warcraft series or any other game remotely similar to it for that matter. I didn’t really realise that this was entirely different (yeah I shoulda known but I never took notice). This morning I walked into one of the major cities in WoW for the first time, haveing messed around with quests in the little towns where I started, and I couldn’t believe it, the MMORPG genre really clobbered me in the head, there were people everywhere, trading goods, talking, walking around, dueling, dancing, banking, eating. It’s a bloody busseling metropolis.

This game has me by the gonads and it won’t be letting me go for quite a while methinks.

Ok so, I have a couple of text based ads on my site, does that make me cheap? does that make me a corperate monkey bowing down to giant American blood suckers? Probably, but I think they are very subtle and don’t take anything away from the site, I don’t expect to actually make any money from them, I just want a pretty looking $4 check from Google, I wonder if it has their logo on it… that would be sweet. I stole the nice subtle offside ad placement from www.fuzzyslogic.com. Will Be interesting to see what happens, I get very few visitors to my site so this ain’t some get rich quick scheme, more of a social experiment in the effectiveness of web based advertising….HA

I’m back on Windows again, and loving it to be frank, all my games are back on and I have my Winamp and iTunes and Macromedia software to keep me happy, I’m comfortable again.

Well I finally put the final touches on the MyITSolutions.com.au website I’ve been working on lately, it was my first online store so it was interesting to mess with. I used osCommerce as the store program and turned out quite well, thousands of modules and other things available which made it really easy to customise to exactly how I wanted it, the stylesheet syntax is rather weird though, seems kind of backwards to what I’m use to (instead of “.class tag” they used “tag.class” which I found weird). Now I can chill for a while and hopefully find myself a new job over summer.

Farkenel December is busy. At work and home, I spend too much cash on beer and whatnot, then have bugger all money for christmas presents. Then I ponder too much about what to do on the most overated night of the year, everyone knows you always have a better damn time when you DON’T have anything dramatic planned, unless you go to Falls, but I’m not, so there. I have to buy my Big Day Out Ticket soon before they sellout, I’m not super impressed with the lineup but I always go anyway. Work is full of plenty of repetitive DVD burning that drives me completely insane. Hmm what else is there while I’m on my rant…oooh oooh BLOODY clothes….I’m running out, man I hate buying clothes…rant over.

Starting to get sick of Ubuntu now, I want my games back, so I’ll be reformatting this week methinks.

I think I’m going to start drinking more red rather than beer, doubt that will last long.
