I went to the cricket today, MCG, day 2 of the boxing day test, Australia VS India. Now I’m not really a cricket fan, let me rephrase that, I’m not a cricket fan. I can’t sit through more than 2 overs of 20/20 cricket without getting bored, provided it’s not the last 2 overs, other than that, not particularly excited about it. I ended up going after a drunken agreement with some cricket fan mates of mine. So I went. Fantastic day, 40k people, all chillin in the sun, watching a bunch of dudes hit a red ball around, it’s purely the atmosphere that makes it good, along with the beer. It was only the second time I’ve been to the MCG, the last time was about 11 years ago, I went to a day nighter (had a ball then too actually). The MCG, especially since it’s upgrade is one big ass impressive structure, and it’s cool just being in the place, definitely worth the $30 ticket price and the 5 buck mid strength beers. Even if you’re not a cricket fan, tag along with one of your cricket nut mates one day, you’ll have a ball.
